LED hyper flash problem solvers ... (?)
Find out the resistance of the LED's find out the resistance of the stock bulbs, wire in resistors to match. Piece of cake. Capacitors are not the way to go, not sure why you would do that... So much work to make it work right... capacitors are unnecessary in this application.
well seems I ordered the bulbs for the 94 z28 I had and they sent me 3157's as opposed to what the car actually had which were 1157's, I never returned them as I found the Monte and traded straight across and used them in the Monte... Whoops, sleepy and got off track.. Lol anyways, I looked them up and they don't carry the specific bulb I ordered anymore so what I am thinking.. Sell em to someone and order new front turn signal bulbs and a resistor to match what I need.. Just start over fresh badically
I am sooo sorry I have not responded until now, & hope the information I have might still help you out.
To help with the hyper-flashing, I initially bought the resistors & all from SuperBrightLEDS.com - same place I bought/buy all of my LED stuff.
But before I had a chance to install them on each corner, I found the following website ... BBEngineer.com ... where the proprietor of it actually took our flashers & modded them, with what I guess are different resistors, etc., & that is all was needed to run LEDs for everything.
Awesome, huh?! Thing is, even though the website is still mostly intact, the guy - who's name I cannot remember, but lives down in Jersey near Philly - is not in business anymore ... because as you might see, he did a lot for our types of cars. Monte Carlo, Impala, Malibu, etc. I do not know if there is an e-Mail somewhere for him on the site ... I, unfortunately, do not still have him in my Contacts as it was just about three years ago that I did business with him ... I sent him my flasher, & $35, & he sent it back, or another one - I do not know - but all I know is that it has works flawlessly ever since, even though he said he could not guarantee it any further than just plugging it in, & that it would work the first time.
I have peeked around on the other Boards/Forums & have never ran across anyone else that does this, so the resistors is the way to go ... & it is NOT a hard "job" mod to do ... just putting a small gold-colored thing - about 3 inches long - inline with the flash wire/cable, & that is that.
Like I said, ... I still have all 4 that I got from SBLEDs that have never been touched ... with written & diagram'ed directions, & the clips that are used to get them inline so no one has to actually cut into any wires & then splice them back together.
If you cannot find a rebuilt flasher, or the like, or would like to maybe go the resistor route, or be stuck going this route, let me know if you are interested, I promise I will make you a better deal than you will likely find anywhere else ... & no one really makes them any better than SBLEDs. I have photos to ... I did try to sell them before in the classifieds, but the flashers were available, & folks were going that route.
Let me know ... But EITHER WAY, definitely post some photos & videos here to show what you got & what you did! There are 100's of LED fixtures out there, ... even at the site I mentioned earlier they have at least 6-7 choices for turns & brakes ... I bought the brightest - at the time - now they make brighter ones, ... & I friggin' want 'em! But I have other priorities I have to stay on track about ... maybe late next summer ... & they will likely have something even better ... but at $30+ a "bulb/fixture", times 2 amber, & 4 red, ... that $180 + shiping, etc., adds up in an instant ... which is why I absolutely LOVE LEDs ... INSTANT "On', INSTANT "Off" ... most often up to 1,000 times faster than an incandescent bulb ... ... ... ... Yeah, yeah, yeah, ... I scientific lab tests.

Anyway, ...
Take care, Sir.
Yours,
Jason
I just looked up in your profile & I see you are 80 miles from me. We definitely gotta think about meeting up sometime ... Maybe with some off the other guys from the east & a little south of me/us.
Wow. Very cool!
