@02ssLE: Sounds like someone might need a punch in the mouth for [apparently] NOT telling you there was a problem when they returned the car. He had to have known there was a problem as it rolled down your street & into your driveway ...

Oh, believe me, guys..He got an ear-full when I saw him. I NEVER let people drive my car. But, it was an emergency situation. So, I had to do what I could. Next time, he can ask someone else.

Been driving wifey's Equinox the past few days. Trying to scrape up some money to do the repair. Hopefully, I won't break anything else while trying to tear the old one out. Wish me lots of luck!

If you have the right tools at your disposal, then you will have next to zero problems.

Exclamation

Look very close for a Missing Wheel wight first.
Mine Did the same thing.
I ended up changing the lower control arm, Bushing was a mess, wearing away the frame. I heard no pounding, Aluminum is quite.
I replaced the Hub. It was slightly bad. Pry on it a bunch and have someone look close at it while shacking it. TIRE must be off the ground.
there is a 13 MM bolt on the back side of hub that I can't get out of the one on passenger side to replace that one. I broke all my sockets trying. Torch next try!
If all else fails change the GAS CAP !!! GM parts store ONLY trust me. LOL.
