Yeah, thats exactly what Im talking about, if the MAF gets oiled up, wouldnt that cause it to kinda studder?

 

MAF would idle improperly and shake and everything, if that is happening and you disconnect the MAF sensor and it stops, then you know the MAF is bad

 

If I read the title of this thread correctly my suggestion would be to find yourself a woman and start going to speech classes...

This problem turned out to be my MAF sensor as well. I had replaced the spark plugs and wires, air filter, fuel filter, and about a month prior had replaced the upper intake manifold on my 3.8. Now the 2nd MAF my car has been through. I had cleaned it and the problem persisted until a full replacement.

 

i'M having kinda the same problem. Mine starts jerking around 1500 and revving up and down. Im leaning toward maybe the ignition module going out or maybe converter. Maybe even the ignition switch because sometimes it dies. Not sure what it is , but will rule out the catylic converter tomorrow. Im thinking i can pull the o2 sensors and relieve the exhaust pressure. Lookout for fire though! Shoots a flame out! Also it does this more when the engine heats up. That sounds like a Mass Air Flow sensor. Take it to an Autoparts store and run the codes on it. Mine had a bad air flow and a misfire in cylinder #4 until i changed the flow sensor. Changed the sparkplugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, and some vacuum tubing trying to stop it from misfiring. MAF did it though.

 

I have a similar problem every once in a while but it's only on ignition. When I first start the car, every once in a while it'll sputter and sound like it's going to stall, and I'll just give it a good healthy dose of full throttle up to about 4K RPM and it'll go away and be normal again. I'm assuming it's probably the MAF? I disconnected it to try and get an idea but it only happens every once in a while so it's hard to tell.

 

on my car the mass air flow sensor is right next to the throttle body held in place with two security pin torx screws on top. If it is messing up occasionally it may just be dirty, pull it out and use some MAF sensor cleaner (or electronics cleaner, the stuff isn't real harsh and evaporates completely when dry). If you are using a K & N air filter or something along those lines the oil in them will sometimes gunk up the MAF. DO NOT touch the threads inside it, they are very delicate and are made of platinum which is why the dmn things have a core cost on them and still run you about 150 for a remanufactured version.
Badass, you could also have some vacuum tubing going bad from your fuel pressure regulator into the throttle body as well. If they go bad your engine doesn't regulate its fuel input quite right which may be why you have a rough start-up every now and again. If you don't know what it is, its like little cylinder shaped guy mounted on your fuel rail oriented towards the drivers side i believe.
