Interchangeable parts
Is the steering wheel from a 04 as interchangeable with the 05s LS? I have a 05 LS but my buddy has a scrap ss not sure of the year but its the same gen. I want the radeo controls that mine dont have.and my combination switch is bad in my 05
The wheels are interchangeable. Not sure if the controls hook right up.. I assume they do.
Its quite the hassle to remove these wheel, ill say that. There are 4 clips you need to "unlatch" to remove the airbag before you can remove the entire wheel. Look up a youtube video or something to see the exact location of them.
AND BE CAREFUL when you unhook the airbag. I was told by a shop (not sure if this is true) that if you accidentally ground the wires, youll blow the airbag. They said removing the airbag fuse will not stop this. Again, not sure how true this is.

7 Yes it worked But I had to cut slits in the connector so it would slide in But for some reason My brights won't stay on I thought my turn signal switch was bad because my Back running lights on the top won't come on But the turn signal will work And I replaced it and that's not it so now I'm stuck putting my car all back together and still where I was going to be getting not knowing why my running lights aren't working But thank you for your input And if you have any input on why my running lights aren't working that would be great
Brights wont stay on or running lights? After I swapped my wheel its so hard to engage my brights, sometimes I feel im going to break the lever. I have to pull the lever really hard to get that "click" to turn the brights on or off. Never bothered to find out the problem. Guess ill figure it out if I finally break the multifunction.. Sorry cant be more help than that.

Yes, the wheels interchange. But if all you want are the wheel controls, you don't have to change the entire wheel. Just pull the air back off. The wheel control panel is removed with a torx bit. And you *might* need to grab the wiring harness that is under the air bag. Outside of that, easy!
And the multi-function switch, also interchangeable to my knowledge. I have seen videos claiming you can remove that switch without pulling the wheel. I tried and first time my torx bit slipped, I pulled the wheel (not worth making a bigger problem). Honestly, I found pulling the wheel is not too bad. Three slots on the back, use 2-3 small flat head screw drivers, insert and twist. It can be a bit of a game. As said, no sparks/static shocks to the air bag connectors. To be safe, I recommend disconnecting the battery before messing with the air bag. One big nut (I think a 18mm or 19mm) holds the wheel to the steering shaft. The big challenge, once the nut is removed, the wheel can have a good grip on the splines. I can sometimes wiggle and smack the wheel off with my hands. But bet option is a puller (I have used a 3 jaw pulled that grabs the aluminum frame of the wheel and has a punch that plunges down on the shaft of the column).
