I hate to be blunt and tell you this, but the intake you got looks like one of those cheap Ebay ones. That is not helping your performance at all and not made specifically for your car. As mentioned, it's got no heat shield and they use cheap filters. Plus it leaves you no spot for your PCM/ BCM.

You want a good intake, go to Cold Air Inductions Inc. - Cold Air Intake Systems - High Performance Cold Air Intakes & Filters and buy the intake from them. It comes with a nice insulated box to house the filter, uses the stock hose and MAF. No codes, and extra performance. Plus it has mounts for your PCM/ BCM.

I meant look into installing the section of stock maf tube onto the end of the radius tube you have (between the radius tube and filter), which will extend the length of tubing from the filter to throttle body by a few inches. I say "look into" it because I'm not sure that will even work with the intake you have.

Mike makes a good point, though, and I have to agree with him.

No, the maf sensor is just after the filter, see below; maf tube section (1) and the electrical connector (2).

I did see it and go for the cheap route. But the performance increase is there. It is a huge increase to what was before it, as I said earlier.

Shortly after this thread we were able to get it one fine. Just like you stated and pictured, 06mistreSS. Though it does seem to decrease the power gains putting it back on. Without it it was pretty unbridled. Do any of you out there operate your cars without the MAF? Also, can you keep it removed safely? Would like great details to know.
