Default Ignition switch melted wire

I have a 04 ls that has been giving me passlock problems. I got a new ignition switch put it in and when u turned the key it started smoking. Found out it melted a wire in the harness.

What is the wire for and did this harm anything else?

Symptoms are no fuel pump or crank when turn key. I've tried the relearn countless times no luck.

I've looked thru my diagrams and didn't have it anymore. You can google search the switch and find it that way if nobody else chimes in , but regaurdless you have to repair the wire so follow it to the next junction and look for issues. Good luck

I have the vats figured out. But now it has no spark. Could the burned wire have killed the ecm?
