HVAC wiring question
I have a 2000 monte carlo SS 3.8L. My service manual can't answer my question. I am bypassing the factory fan switch for my heater controls. I unplugged the harness from the switch and there are 7 wires.
Wire A: dark green (switch in off position is [+]. Switch in on position is [-].)
Wire B: brown (is [+] when ignition is on only.)
Wire C: orange (switch in on position 5, highest is [+ 12volts].)
Wire D: N/A
Wire E: purple (switch in on position 4 is [+ 12 volts].)
Wire F: light blue (switch in on position 3 is [+ 12 volts].)
Wire G: tan (switch in on position 2 is [+ 12 volts].)
Wire H: yellow )switch in on position 1, lowest is [+ 12 volts].)
I want to activate the fan speed via 12 volt switching relays. In order to turn on fan speed in position 1, does anyone know if I should just connect Wire B to wire H or do I have to tap into the HVAC relay. I'm hoping I can do it all from the harness. Anyone?
