Default Ignition Plate

Hi,
I have an 04 SS and my ignition plate (the plastic peice that pops off to get the dash off it also shows the key positions) broke. The clips that hold it in place broke off. I would like to replace it, does anyone have a part number or place I can get one? My car is still under warrenty so I can prob get it covered but not sure if it is worth the hastle for a piece that should not cost more then $10 shipped.

Thanks,
Ralph

you can get a new one for like 20.00 from the dealer they are not to bad. but like Whizz said you can always look in the local pick and pulll.

If ya find a monte they will hav eon laying someplace around it mostlikely on the floor.

Or the other choice is to take some supper glue and put it back to geather for the time being so you dont have a hole in the dahs

Mickey, I have decided to glue it on. The only pieces that broke off are the clips. The face itself it still solid. I just need to make sure I do not use a glue that will eat the vinal materal I will need to attach to.

actually if you get like a bonding adheisive that would work really well...

i dont know where you are...but there's all sorts of auto parts stores that sell bonding adheisives...but it would be a lot more than glue...but 100% sure it would stay in...even in lots of heat..where glue might break off

actually the biggest issue will be finding one that will bond to the rubber parts there.

Also make sure that you make it so you can get it off as part of the dash but the thing that your going to have a issue with is that you need to beabel to remove that part to get the dash off.

Unless you take the chance and pul on the rubber part and it could break also.

I had mine just set in place with dubbel stick tape for a while and seemd to hold it pretty good but it was still removabel also.

but i opted to replace it for the 20.00 it was well worth the headachs it could produce
