Default How can i figure out which fuel injectors i need?

I have a 97 Monte Carlo ls and I'm trying to figure which kind of fuel injectors I would need to replace my old ones? How would I go about figuring that out?

Is there a specific reason you want to replace them all? They aren't typically just routinely replaced.

With that said, I would just jump on rock auto to grab the stock part numbers and then go shopping.

my grandfather is a mechanic and suggested that I should replace them all since I have now knowledge of the last time they may have been replaced. I checked rock auto and they have a few but I'm looking to buy them in a set .

Yeah but unless you are suspecting an issue with them, I wouldn't bother. Are you knocking or misfiring because one isn't spraying? Are you running too rich because one is stuck open?

At least you have the Part # now, you can look around on the web for a set then.

you can always send them off to get cleaned professionally, it's about $15 per injector for them to clean and flow test before and after the cleaning.

I agree with Chibi. I never once heard of routinely changing fuel injectors. Between friends and family, many of us have had injectors out live the car at over 200K miles. I have only changed injectors if it is found defective or I broke one once getting the fuel rail out (and I replaced it with a junk yard one).

I agree with both Chibi and the Maniac. First thing I'd do is Ohm the injector with a multimeter for resistance and compare the values. If one is bad the numbers will be obvious and in the end probably save you $300 -$400 in parts alone. Good luck.
