Default hood release lever inop

I think the plastic handle under the dash disconnected from the cable. Anyone with experience fixing this??? How much $$$ and is it a pain in the ***? I haven't had a chance to look at it yet; But, I will be digging into it soon.

Thanks in advance.

Default Fixed

FYI it wasn't so bad... two clips on the toe cover panel, two screws on the panel below the steering column. The fuse cover will let you see behind that panel it pulls straight aft toward you. The trunk release wiring and button was a pain until I studied it and put it back together correctly. I grabbed the cable with needle nose vice-grips and it opened. After a clean and lub it started working correctly. I did notice that from under the car it is very accessable. Next time I'll jack it up.
