Default Homelink Temperature Way Off

Been a while since I created a new thread here, but expect plenty more of them come spring.

So the temperature reading on my Homelink was 140*F on a cold winter day. It still isn't giving me correct readings. It might say 60* when it's only 40* out. It's all over the place really. Something is obviously wrong with the thermostat. How can I fix this?

It should be the ambient temp sensor in front of the radiator. Maybe it is unplugged? Fell off where it is supposed to be mounted? Just needs to be replaced.

Where exactly is the ambient temp sensor behind the radiator?

Hopefully this helps. I'm nowhere near my Monte to show a real picture

It's easy to find the sensor. You can work with it from up top or underneath. To go from up top, remove the long plastic shroud cover. Chibi's diagrams are spot on. It's a small sensor.

Is it the thing attached to the wire in the picture?

In the pic, it's item #1. When you look for it, it's a small black plastic sensor that should be held in with a plastic pin.
