If it is a sensor,
it should be covered under the 3 years 36 mile drive train warranty (base warranty)

 

sounds like he knows his warranty is up though... he could be past the 36k mile mark... if he is, he does an aweful lot of driving! I've had mine since Nov. 23, 2005, and I have around 32k miles now, and I drive it a lot...

 

I vote for taking it to the dealer. Can't have 36,000 on it yet???

My 06 is 2 years in service and only has 28k.
