headlight switch

Default headlight switch

so when my car is off my switch works just fine,, pull it back once and parking lights come on pull all the way back and headlights come on

but when i start it, i cant ever get the head lights to go off day or night is this normal?

im about to get my HID kit in and just want to get this figured out b4 hand thank you in advance

is it the highbeams that stay on? The DRLs will stay on.

its the lights on the outside..

so i went ahead and bent the #87 prong on the DRL Relay and the lights still stay on.. is this switch broke? or am i missing something about this car.. haha thanks for you help

High beams will come in in daylight no matter what position the switch is in. Low beams come on when the ambient light get low enough. If you bent pin 87 on your 2001, your lights will be stuck on. This trick only works on 2005 models.

haha ok so its not the switch.. i dont understand why there is a switch then if you dont ever have to use it why have it?

thanks for you help

edit: and the lights are always stuck on anyways...

its probably your ambient sensor on top of the dash when i bought my monte it was knocked inside the top dash piece and just placed it back and all was good

DRLs are on the outside of the car....

x2 to this... they seem to be covered or broken quite often with these cars
