Fuel Filter???
It could be something as simple as a dirty TPS (throttle position sensor.)
I'd also consider doing a fuel pressure test.

What sort of miles do you have on the car and is it up to speed with some maintenance items (like plugs, wires, air filter, etc)? If the current plugs are BOSCH or they have close to or over 100,000 miles, time for some new ones (even if it does not solve the problem, it's smart maintenance).
