Default Fuel filter replacement

Is it very hard to replace the fuel filter on a 01 Monte SS? It's pretty cold up here and I don't want to start on it if it will take a while. Thanks!

It's easy... two quick disconnect fittings and a bolt and it's off.

Is it back by the tank?

It's on the driver's side, before the LR wheel

mine has 1 quick connect and one fitting, and then clamped on. the clamp is typicly held by a 13mm bolt, then i use a 16mm and a 20mm wrench on the fitting, but 5/8 and 13/16 should work too

Cool, thanks for the wrench sizes. I always end up with the wrong sizes when I'm working on something. I'll be prepared this time.

Oops, maybe it is one quick connect. I forgot, it's been a while since I did mine.

Another thing too...I replaced mine last year. I think it's actually threaded backwards. So instead of "righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey"...go the opposite.

BTW...a golf tee works great to plug the gas line when you change the filter.

Too bad I don't golf or that would have come in handy! [8D]

I replace the filter when I had an older deville and I forgot to loosen the cap on the gas tank and it was about -10 outside and the gas burnt my arm. It was not a pretty sight. Live and learn I guess...
