Get both out of the box and compare the 2. A cheap one will have the resistor wires bare, and the hd will be like a solid block of epoxy. I don't remember for sure, but I don't think I paid very much from GM.

 

Did it end up being the blower motor resistor? I am havin this problem now!

 

I had the same problem and had to replace the switch itself. The contacts in the back side of the switch had melted into the plastic housing so they no longer contacted the wiper. I found HVAC controls with a broken bezel at the JY and just replaced the switch section and it was good to go.

 

thanks for the help! if anyone else has any input i would really appreciate it. I think i'm going to take it to the dealer to find the problem and DIY fix it
