Default Fan runs non stop

we hen i start my car the fan automatically turns on and when I shut car off fan turns off but the temp gage always runs in the middle no higher. When I pop hood it feels hot so my question is, is it possible my car is running hotter than my gage says and should the fan run all the time

The fan runs when the A/C is on. Turn off your A/C and it should turn off.

a quick check for temperature is to use a laser thermometer. Check the temp on the thermostat housing, the hoses and radiator.

Default Coolant Temperature Sensor

Sounds like the typical symptoms of a bad coolant temperature sensor. It is located under the thermostat housing and to the right of right engine torque strut.
