Default Electrical dies but engine stays running

I have an 03 Monte Carlo SS and rarely, but often enough to post about it now, I’ll have the engine running and all of a sudden the radio will shut off and all my gauges go to 0 on the dash. Engine is still running and I can drive it just fine, even tho tachometer and speedometer and every other gauge is in it’s far left position. Even the gear shift lights are off. Maybe 2-3 minutes later, everything comes back online.

My question is if anyone knows what could cause this, what I can do to fix it, and if anyone’s even had this issue before.

Thanks.

Sounds like a short, a ground issue, fuse. I think the dash wiring is independent.

I had a similar issue with the AC blower stopping but it would start blowing again if I turned it off and then on to full speed and down to 2 or 3. It turned out to be the ignition switch and I haven't had a problem with that since.
