Does anyone know if the 1997 3100 EGR is linear or digital?

I am swapping a 3400 from a 05 Impala and I don't know if the 3100's computer is going to throw a fit or not. I used all of the 3100's sensors (new of course) on the 3400. I am using the guide for the swap over. The guide was written for earlier 3400 and 3100's. Most of it is straight forward but I noticed that it was off on the coolant area, my 3100 had one ECT not two like the guide mentioned (again, the guide was written for a 95 I think) this was a good thing as the 05 3400 had one ECT, so I just put a 3100 ECT in so the plug ends matched up. I just don't know about the EGR, so if anyone can help, it would be appreciated!! Thanks.

After getting bad information from the local chevy dealership, thanks guys.

I went to alldata and it turns out that both engines used a linear (analog) signal and the pin outs are the same. So the guide turned out to be incorrect (I am sure it was correct for the engines/years used) I also had confirmation from Ben at WOT-Tech.

So to answer the question, you can use the 05 Impala 3400 EGR valve with the 97 Monte Carlo 3100 computer.
