ecu and ac
Everything checks out with a/c system on '01 MC. Everything. But, contactor won't kick in unless jumped.
Scan shows that juice gets to BCM but no apparent communication with PCM (ECU). All grounds in electrical system are fine. Took it to a dealer and found out the same thing for $102 that I already knew.
Anyone know if flashing the existing ECU might have a good chance to resolve the problem? The only other alternative would be to replace the BCM and if that isn't the problem then replacing the ECU as well.
Naturally, I don't want to end up tossing money at either. Both the BCM and PCM are working properly other than the a/c monitoring and a possible short in the door locks from both the remote and the switches although the security system DOES operate from the remote.
