Question Ecu

Ok fellas if you've read any of my posts about my mpg problem then I'm on my last leg I'm fed up.. my whole mpg problem started when I changed my battery n it was a bigger battery plus when my buddy put it in appearently he didn't tighten down the cables well enough so on that day my whole dash was going haywire. Security light was flasing gauges were all wacking turning off n on then finally it died. I got out n tightened down the cables n went on with my day. Well ever since then my cars mpg has suffered. Is there any way that coulda fried the ecu or its fuse. So my question is if I pull the fuse to look at it and re install it will it mess up my car at all? By the way I have an 02 ss

The computer is not 100% accurate. Next time you fill up, rest your trip counter to 0. Then the following time you fill up divide the miles by the gallons you put back in. That will give you a better reading.
