cut out or downpipe first?

the reason why the ls4 guys put the cutout there is because the y pipe reduces down to 2.25 or 2". so you want it before the y. i dont know how much room there really is on the downpipe for a cutout not to mention im going to assume your car would stink having the fumes pumping right under you. this is usually acceptable on a hot rod. not so much on a car from this era. for what the cutout is going to cost you, it would be far easier, and cheaper to remove the mufflers and straight pipe it. if i had to get a cut out i would get the manual one. nothings worse than the motor burning out on it and having to buy another one, or having something get caught on it(this happened to on guy on tech).

Buy the DP, sit it on a shelf for a couple weeks and let it look pretty. During that time think about whether or not you want the cutout or not. By that time you might have the $$ saved to buy it if you decide to and then you can have all your exhaust work done at the same time saving on labor cost at the shop.

Buy mods and let them sit?!?! Unheard of haha. He will look at it and wanna put it on that second if he's like me

I never said it would be easy! I've sort of conditioned myself over the years so it's not such a torture for me now to have parts laying around.

lol to all of you!! im thinkink dp first then go from there. i lost 400 at the casino tonite so im already beating myself up!

Well ordered by downpipe from zzp today. Gonna get the cutout soon.

I believe they are 2.5". What engine do you have ? That may make a difference... Mjclemm...
