RE: cut out
i say don't worry about how it sounds.....as long as it gives you that few extra HP when that crapstang pulls up next to you
just make sure you get a sound clip up when you do it.
and you are from elgin?????? i used to live in hampshire.....small world....

RE: cut out
i dont know if its going to give you any extra horsepower or not, yah the exhaust will have less distance to travel...but there will be no back pressure @ all and our cars need a little back pressure, thats why i've kept the stock mufflers on it. i say try it, if it doesn't help then just take them off, it won't sound very good though i dont think

RE: cut out
i had one on my Z. with it open it deff was louder but still sounded good. but my 3.4L DOHC is very diff then the 3800. i also lost a noticable amount of low end tq but gained some top end hp. so its a trade off. the ultimate thing would be rigging it so that at low RPM it is close and it opens as the RPMS climb. then you keep your tq and gain the extra hp.
but again its a fun toy to have. if you dont like it just leave it closed.
