Default Cruise light flashing on 05 Monte

This happens at random times on start-up. But sometimes when starting the car the cruise light blinks.
Also notice when it blinks the cruise does not work and you can hear link a humming sound.
Shut off the car and restarting it takes care of it.
We thought maybe it was low voltage at start-up doing as the battery was old.
But the original battery finally gave up after 7 years. So i just changed that Tuesday.
Got the Cruise light blinking again today.

That's a new one.

Pop the hood and look at the Throttle Body. One wire is for the cruise control, maybe it isn't seating correctly?

I'll have to check the connections for it. The noise sounded like it was coming from the left side where the cruise module is.
The next time it does it i'll have to pop the hood and listen to see before i shut it off and restart.
It's done this for the past couple of years. It only happens maybe once a month if that even.

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. It's done it twice this week alone. Still no idea why.

I was having issues with the cruise light randomly lighting up. My cruise still worked though. I just dealt with it and them more weird things started happening. My DIC would not come on and then all of the sudden it would and then my fan for my heat and a/c would come on and off by itself. Turned out it was my ignition switch.

Could be an ignition switch, cruise control switch or the cruise control actuator motor. I don't believe your car has the cable driven throttle body I believe that it is electronic
