catalytic converter

Default catalytic converter

I have a 01 Monte and I wanted to know if the catalytic converter was welded or bolted on

The cat is welded to a part known as the "downpipe". The down pipe is bolted to the rear exhaust manifold and a flange that connects it to the resonator and the rest of the exhaust.
Here's my write up and pics from when I swapped out my cat for a high flow cat (complete with downpipe):

Thanks for that but I had another question would it be better to get a whole new exhaust system or just change the converter cuz I've been wanting a new system and does anyone want to buy a converter I can't use LOL
