Car stereo wont shut off with car/door opened

Default Car stereo wont shut off with car/door opened

Hello, i recently installed my new stereo and amp/sub. I didnt use a wiring kit fyi. i spliced the wires together and figured out which goes to which. When i shut down the car, my stereo doesnt shut off and my battery dies after a while after being shut off. Can someone please help me!!! Thanks!!

Wire the main power to a fuse that shuts off, or the accessory wire that is telling the stereo to shut off, you can also run that to a fuse that shuts off when the car is turned off.

Some of the cheaper harnesses do this for some reason and I never really cared enough to look into why it did it, I just ran off a fuse that gets their power cut when the key is turned to off. You can test this pretty easily, otherwise I can check after work to see which fuse I used as well.

word, thanks for the reply man! a couple people told me about hooking the blue wire thats coming from my aftermarket stereo (the remote wire?) to my ignition wire or ignition fuse.
