A/C Knocking

haven't fixed or changed anything yet, new symptom....

Oh, okay. Well if you were getting the clicking noise that means the actuator was malfunctioning. Are you still getting the clicking sound? The actuator may now be stuck in the heat position so none of the cold air is making it to the vents. Kinda like having the heater on even though the controls are set for A/C.

No problem...let us know know how many busted knuckles and broken nails it takes to get it fixed.

i have the same problem. gonna take it to the dealer. luckily mine is still under warranty.

I have an 06 ss monte... Mine started knocking about 2 years ago and is still doing it till this day....i dont know wtf i can do. Dont really have money for repairs. Looking forward to looking at this how to vid on youtube

All right..... so turns out the a/c blend door actuator is an easy fix.... had two on the passenger side that needed replacement. Took them... opened them... and robbing peter to pay paul, was able to make one good one by swapping gears and only had to buy one for $38.00. didn't have to remove the dash just pulled out the glove box. 4 broken nails, one busted knuckle, and one sliced thumb later the a/c doesn't knock anymore but isn't blowing cold either....so after three hours of trouble shooting i think i need to change the compressor clutch coil....FML

mine started ticking a couple days ago..... i knew i could count on this site to tell me what my problem is lol well i guess i get to get some busted knuckles now prolly no broken nails though i keep em short lol i can for sure see a sliced thumb in my future too ...... just one question how do you know which of the 3 on the passenger side is the malfunctioning one?

I would have an assistant change the settings on the climate control while you are looking at the actuators. You should be able to see the one(s) that is(are) causing the noise.
