Blower wont shut off
i woke up one morning and went outside to my car and i could here the blower for the HVAC running the keys werent in it or anything and the switch was off. i played with the switch turning it off and on but it wouldnt turn off. so i pulled the fuse out and since then i dont have a #5 position on my fan just 1 2 3 and 4 and the only way i can make the blower come on again is to put the fuse back in. does anyone know what may have happened and how i can fix it

Pretty sure I know the issue. Went through the same thing with the wife's GTP. What is happening is water is getting past the seal on the bottom of the windshield and getting down into your blower motor/ resistor and shortening them out. You need to get the bulletin part (Chibiblacksheep has a thread here with what you need and how to install it here:

This will stop the water. Then you need to replace the parts that shorted out; the blower motor resistor and possibly the blower motor.

The blower resistor and the #5 fan speed relay are one piece, the resistor is shorted. It happens all the time and is not always directly connected to the water leakage issue from improper cabin filter installation. Check cabin filter install for water leakage and change the resistor. If the fan runs when the fuse is in the fan is totally okay. Resistor is about $120 but buy the acdelco part it is a revised part (updated design).

thanks ill check it out im definitely gonna buy the shield anyway because we just had a big storm and my passenger side carpet was soaked. i thought i fixed the water problem when i changed the cabin filter but apparently not.
