6th Gen ('00-'05): BCM trouble?
Howdy,
Some backround, I own a 2004 Monty SS and recently had to change the transmission. I am not that handy but some buddies are. Once I got it changed it was great for a week. I went out to leave one morning and no crank. All the lights work, electric locks and radio work. But it wouldn't crank. I ran to the internet and like a fool didn't ask here ( regret this lemmie tell ya). I ended up changing the starter and it worked once then went back to no crank. I bought a new battery tried to start it and again no crank BUT this time I got all these messages on the message center (Low fuel, Service engine soon, Service traction control system but no security message it also doesn't show what gear {Park} the car is currently in). I shut it off and took out the key and now every few seconds all the dash lights flash without the key in the ignition. I watched it for a few minutes and it didn't stop so I disconnected the brand new battery. I have been trying to research the issue and keep ending up back here. My kids are almost grown and I want to put money into restoring my car so please any help would be appriciated!

The BCM itself isn't that expensive but I don't know what it costs to get one coded to your car which you'll likely have to do. Personally, if it were me, I would check any wiring around the transmission to make sure something didn't get pinched or cut and replace the BCM then go from there. My guess would be that the current issue is unrelated to the replacement of the transmission.
