Default Bcm swap

I have on 03 ls,and want to add heated seats, factory fog light switch(using a toggle style now),and have all the steering wheel controls working (switched the buttons only volume, mute and mode works). If I swap the BCM from the same year SS model with all options will everything I'm put in finally work? Thanks

Each BCM is programmed directly to the car with vin that is not able to changed once installed BCM's are different between engine/transmissions. You will also need a Tech 2 (gm's scan tool) to properly program the new bcm.

Here's a link to a new one from Rock Auto.com

Product Detail

I would contact the dealer in your area to see if you may be able to have your existing bcm programmed to add the new features?

The radio buttons should simply work when plugged in (at least that's what I read from other members who swapped them in). By the fact you mention mute and volume work, that leads me to believe the others are possibly damaged buttons.

Now for the fogs, I'm not sure if all the wiring is in place to simply install the factory fogs. If it is, I would imagine you need to plug everything in and probably add a relay to a spot in a fuse panel.

And for the heated seats, I have read that the wiring is there for them. You need the factory switch panel and the heated seats, from there, it's plug and play (wiring for the seats is hidden under the carpet).
