bcm
The BCM is located above the parking brake pedal. It is a black box with 3 connectors. BCM failure is fairly common on a 2001. The BCM controls many electrical functions on the vehicle. When a BCM fails it can cause all sorts of electrical malfunctions. Exterior lighting acting goofy, various warning lights illuminating on the instrument panel,no start, inoperative power locks, etc just to name a few. There is a bar code label on the BCM that has a date code on it. If the 3 digit numeric code is below 170 your BCM was manufactured before certain improvements were implemented.
Is the reflash of the BCM worth while to do, or just get a replacement if below the better number? I would assume the replacement would need a flash as well??
