BCM help needed for UK owner
I have a 2001 Monte and have just bought the car from a colleague at work for a steal!
The problem is this;
The Auto lights flick from day/night and it looks like I'm flashing people.
My colleague tried to address this problem and the furthest he got was that the BCM would need replacing. Here in the UK or certainly close to me there is no chvrolet dealer or vauxhall dealer that have techII that are remotely interested in possibly takin on a reprogramme of a BCM.
My first question is could I possibly by pass/rewire the multi function switch to remove the auto light function.
Secondly, I could quite easily get hold of a used BCM and have read various posts about leaving the ignition on and doing this and that to get the BCM to work...whats the low down on this?
Thirdly... As this is an a American car (well Canadian actually) and the hope of getting a dealer level service repair is zilch, is there a DIY repair I could do, like hard wire the lights in, using a live feed etc and using toggle/on off swictch?
Could this actually be done as a feesable alternative or would this upset the BCM further. Any help guys would be greatly appreciated so I can start using this lovely car over here on out roads.
Thanks
