Well as soon as he heard it run he said it was SHOT LOL because of the very loud knocking sound and the engine shaking like crazy he said it was from coolant leaking into the oil and messing the engine up. He also said that cylinder 6 and I think 2 wasn't working so he is going to look for a cheap motor for me but its expensive to get it put in. So if anyone knows of a place that can do the work for a decent price let me know cuz I don't want to get another car I love the Monte

You have a Series II 3800 if I recall? Upgrade to a Series III. From everything I understand, it's a simple process to put a SIII into an SII car (and SIII is identical, with minor exceptions, such as an aluminum UIM, which you can either adapt a L67 throttle body too or swap to a SII LIM, and I've heard the internals are made of strong materials for better durability).

That being said, make me an offer on this....

And if you choose not to make me an offer, I would still consider sourcing a Series III 3800.... Started in 2004, has almost (if not all) the same performance mod options as the Series II 3800.

No I thought I had said that it was a 3.4 not 3.8 sorry for that LOL but if your engine would still fit ill definitely make u a offer and I still have to take in effect the cost of having someone put it in for me cuz I don't have the equipment to do a job like that or the knowledge

I agree with swapping for a 3800 while your at it, series 2 or 3 will be a good investment!

Yes they made your year with them in some models. Do a search here on the site. I would guess you will need your computer reprogrammed and maybe a few different wires.

A 3800 will fit in a 3400 W-Body car. BUT, it will require the correct wiring harness, PCM and possibly some other items. It's a nice upgrade, but if money is tight, you are best off hunting a good 3400 (as it's a direct swap).

But if you want to look at a 3800 swap, there are a lot of posts with more knowledge then I have on the 3.4 to 3.8 swap.

Also, since you have a 3400, I believe the model transmission is the same BUT the gearing in it is different then that of a 3800 (don't quote me). So if you are looking to make the switch, I have engine and trans together for sale.
