Default Alternator not charging Question.

What distance have you driven with when an alternator fails? I plan to defeat the day time running lights an use no electrical accessories. I am trying to go home and it is 70 miles, all highway.

I've driven like 100 yards when the belts snapped. It may not be the same but u still jave bo altenator. You drive for too long on the battery and you will kill that as well. So you'd be buying 2 things instead of one

Will never make 70 miles. May male it 5-10 miles highway that's about it.

Idk your engine but on a 3800 the alt is only 3 bolts, a connector, and a wire. Very easy to change even on the side of the road.
