All my rear lights going haywire
So I'm having massive issues with my rear turn signals, brake lights, even my license plate light all flashing on and off if I toggle a turning signal on in either direction. I've never seen anything like this.
The turn signals on the dashboard even light up simultaneously when signaling, and it also happens if I press the brake pedal.
2005 Monte Carlo LS, no fog lights. 113k miles.
Please if anyone has any idea what to do let me know!! I can no longer drive at night for fear of being ticketed and being unable to fix this before having to pay the fine.

turn signal all bulbs flash and faster when you hit brake - Topix
Anybody think this might be exactly the answer I need? I'm not sure I completely understand the soldering fix described there but maybe a replacement wire with some dialectric grease and electrical tape?
I have basically no money to spend at the moment, and I just looked into the multi function switch...
Advance Auto has it available for $242, and I guess replacement involves removal of the driver side airbag, which I don't think I'm capable of doing with my completely amateur skill levels. I considered checking junk yards and it occurs to me I have no way of knowing if whatever I find in the junk yard will be already shot.
(It's a shame how angry I am at my car, because it's really a beautiful vehicle and basically feels like it was built just for me... But I felt safer driving my Civic with a blown head gasket and rotted engine mounts lol)

I would think that would be unlikely and also I don't think that would explain the turn signal behavior. The part all these various lights do have in common is the multifunction switch though and it's kind of a known pattern failure on these vehicles anyhow.

I noticed after watching my own video that the bulb on the passenger side was out. Changed all of them and it did nothing. Changed turn signal fuse and and gauge cluster fuse in the drivers side fusebox and it actually fixed the dashboard turn signals lighting up simultaneously- which used to be my only indication that the problem was taking place. It used to only happen in the rain or snow which is even more confusing to me.
