Default Speedometer Gone haywire

I changed the battery in my 05MCLS and now the speedometer has gone wacky. When I turn the car off, it stays at 50 mph. It dropped down to zero and I thought the problem was solved and now is back up. I am also having trouble removing the dash to manually move the needle, if that will work. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

you must have a program problem with the ipc module. the dealer may have to reprogram the ipc module. the needle is an electronic componant. i would advise you not to open the cluster for any reason. if there if something funky with the cluster it will have to be sent in and there is a hefty core on the old unit so that is a good thing to not mess with. just a little fyi. later

The needle has gone back down to zero, but for how long I don't know. Everything seems to be back to normal(knock on wood). Thanks for the input.

sorry for change things up but I have the same on going issue in my 02 LS.what bothers me are words like BCU or ECU ect.ect so after doing some work recently we noticed the rpm gauge started moving not normal while the
Mph gauge would drop to 0 all while going 70 mph or so.and the transmission would shift all crazy in relation to this issue and the gear and rpm will pull long and hard before a shift . I'd have to step off the pedal real quick to get it to shift .its gone from that to worse it shows no fault code and now the speedometer just flat dose not work with the same rev and shift issues ,sound about right ?Who if any one can solve this or help me too solve it
.
