Default 99 Monte engine swap

I have a 99 Monte with a blown motor(3800) i bought a used motor (3800 w/ super charger). Is it possible to just remove the super charger and swapout the motor without having to change anything with the trans and computer

You would have to swap the top end of the motor from your old motor. Best bet would be to try and get an HD trans and wiring harness to turn your car into a nice supercharged project.

If I understand goirish10, he has a blown motor (assume bottom end) and wants to put N/A heads/UIM/LIM on a S/C block (re-use the SC bottom end) and swap into his car in hopes of no other changes.

To my knowledge, this will NOT work! The L67 (S/C engine) has a different compression ratio then the L36 (N/A engine). You would have to re-tune the car. Your easiest option is source a L36 or L26 (Series II or Series III n/a engine) and drop it in. Second option would be drop an entire L67 in (with trans and PCM).

There is a bit to the L67 swap. We might have a guide in the Tech Info section about that process.

To swap l67 into a 99 z34 just get a pcm tuned for an l67 and 3.29 gears. Or swap to a gtp trans and you can use a stock 98-99 gtp pcm. Only actual modifications youll have to do is extend and swap map plug. Otherwise its a drop in swap with the corect pcm
