My car starts for about 2 sec and the it just dies no matter what I do. I just changed the computer on it about 3 months ago and had the same problem. The battery died and i needed to jump it then it ran fine. I disconnected the battery to try and reset everything and it didn't help. So now the car is sitting at my work with the battery disconected hoping it will help when I go back in tomorrow. I am just wondering if there are any other suggestions that can help me if this doesn't work tomorrow. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

 

Unplug the MAF sensor, see what happens

Also check your fuel pressure

 

I got fuel pressure and disconnected the maf sensor and nothing changed Idk what else to do.

 

I have noticed since I have been trying this for a while I here 2 clicks right before it shuts down but I can't tell where it is coming from

 

If you unplugged the MAF and nothing changed, then that's your problem. You need to replace the MAF. When you typically unplug the MAF, your car will run like crap.

 

It can't run long enough for me to tell like I said it only runs for maybe 2 sec

 

Does it fire right up and then die or take some coaxing to get started? When did you check the fuel pressure? With key on engine off or while cranking?

 

It starts right up and you can rev it then after 2 sec it dies every time and we checked fuel pressure while cranking/ starting. I did try reseting the security system but that didn't work and I don't have a security light on or any codes.
