87 monte Carlo ignition lock

Hey what's up everyone i just bought a 1987 monte Carlo and it needs a new ignition lock and was wondering if any one knew how to install it? Any help would be appreciated.

Why does it need a new ign? Locked up? Broken off key? Previous theft attempt? Lost key?

The previous owner lost the key so I have to either make a new key or put a new ignition lock so I wanted to try and put the lock in because it's cheaper then making a key.

same thing happen to me when i bought my 83. had to remove the ignition cylinder and brought it to a locksmith to get a new key for 10$ but you need a couple of tools or you can get a new ignition lock
