I've used it at work, where I've had to hold it over my head to go through a chain fence before my car would start.. That is why I laughed and thought of it as a joke.

Default Happened to me before

You know, one day as I was leaving my fiances dad's house. I remote started the car and put it in reverse and when i was in the street and went to put it in drive it was like the car was taking over or something b/c it shut off while running. It only happened once, thought I was the only one. Mine isn't an SS though.

The range on my remote was very bad, you had to get up to the window to this unlock the door's. There is a recall on this problem, I have gotten two new remote's & a new receiver & antenta now the problem is solve. My remote's work over 100 feet. It is cover under the factory warranty. By the way, I'am going to paid my dealer $1500 for more warranty, it will be for 4 more years and another 70,000 mile's with a zero deduct. It will be worth every penny, as they charge $85.00 an hour for labor.

I had the BCM and fobs replaced on my '06 SS after complaining about remote start range. No complaints since.

Would I be able to take mine to the dealer to find out if this has been done to my car? I think it might have been because I noticed something concerning a BCM being replaced on my CarFax report. Plus the range on the remotes doesn't seem too bad. It isn't at all as good as my Viper alarm I had installed on my Stratus though.

everything done to your car should be entered into a computer system by the mechanic, should be accessed through the VIN to see what was done...
