Question for all 6th and 7th Gen Owners
Hi Folks,
In the info center over the mirror, does the Instant Mileage work on any car, or does it read "E" for all our cars?
I don't think I've ever read that it works for any of us. But if it does, does anyone know what causes it not to work in So many Montes?
It doesn't cause any operational problems with the car, it's just a convenience.
Another question, for those of us for whom it reads "E", do you find that the other information it provides, except Direction and Temperature, to be inaccurate? Example: you fill up your tank, to 17 or so gallons, reset your info, then drive to the Empty line on your gas Gage, fuel up again, your receipt says you got 14.3 gal. but your info center says you only used 9.7 gal.?
I'm just trying to figure out Why it seems that the info center does not provided accurate info. in so many Montes?

7th gen here, the DIC is read out in the speedo display and operated with a row of buttons on the dash. The fuel information part works fairly good IMO. Level road @60 reads 26-29 MPG. Stomp on the gas and it quickly drops to gas guzzler ratings, let it coast it tops a Prius' MPG. As my average speed goes up, the average MPG goes down. Last time I remember average speed was 41, MPG was 25.
No gallons used information on mine. It has a Miles-To-Empty calculation that tracks good and will change based on driving behavior too.
Is there any reset option to return all settings to factory?

On Mine, the only reason I don't trust the gal. used, is because it never matches the receipt gal. received o the receipt.
So how is this repaired? I know it only matters time new but eventually, I want everything g I. My car to work.

My readings all apear mostly acurate. Maybe a gallon to a half gallon off on the gas used display and the reciept. I just got my new obd2 adapter and the app for my phone so I can see what info the PCM is putting out in real time. This thing is really cool btw, awesome new toy

See That's what I'm talking about. On those cars that it works it fine. But for those of us where it is not working right, it seems that no one has found a fix. I would not even know where the begin time look for a solution. It's not even in the Haynes manual other than to refer to it as the Digital information center.
Senior Airman: I've got to get me one of those scanner app. adapters. My Bud Phil at work has one he is using on his Toyota and he loves it as well. I wonder if it has upgrades for the Tech OUT applications. I could do So much more to and for my car if I could have 100% Diagnostics.
