78 Monte Carlo Landau manual transmission conversion
I am having a successful talk at trading my Saturn SL2 for a '78 Monte Carlo Landau with a Goodwrench 350, with an Edelbrock Quadrajet carb and TH350 transmission.
The car itself is beat up and needs some interior and paint work.
It is also an automatic... I don't particularly like autos, but I can tolerate them, like I tolerate my Cherokee's automatic. I would like to convert it to a manual transmission.
Sorry if this is a common question, I see a lot of stuff about the T5, but what if I want to go with a 4 speed? I kind of like the 4spd idea with a "muscle" car.
My problem is of course, it's not the original motor, this car had the 305 as the largest factory engine, mine (as stated above) has a Goodwrench 350 crate engine. What 4 or 5 speed transmission would bolt up to this engine? Would everything be a simple bolt in?
PS: I would prefer to go mechanical linkage.
