Default 3.5l 06' Full throttle stall from stop

Ok now this is a wierd one. Im pretty sure my 06' Monte 3.5l doesnt have traction control. On a few occasions when I hit it from full throttle, the tires will churp and the engine will immediatly shut down (like the engine cuts off for a few seconds) and cuts right back on. Im not sure if this is an E-85 problem, electrical problem or a diffrent fuel problem. This is really aggrivating especially if I need to merge into traffic. It has 33000 miles, should I take it in to have it checked while I still have the warranty? or do I really have TC (never see a light when this happens).

I think its normal. I have the 3.9 and it takes about a 2 sec for it to downshift and go at full throttle. If its from a stop its the traction control kicking in. I tried to peel out from work one day to show off and all I got was about 5 seconds cruising at 20 mph cause the engine would not give it any gas for me to chirp the tires. No one knew what happened but it was the dumbest feeling ever.

The engine shouldn't completely shut off...I would take it in or read in your manual for normal operation of your traction control system. It also could be a PCM issue not sending enough fuel to the motor. I have a '99 so I don't have all this new-fangled technology like you guys.Keep us updated!

Sounds like normal traction control operation to me. Check your Monte's option code label (its a label inside the glovebox). If option code NW9 is on the list of codes on the label your car has traction control.
