I got a phone call from someone at the Chevrolet reimbursement department this morning, telling me that they've already reviewed my claim (which I just mailed to them on May 27th) for my expense to fix the power steering hose problem related to this recall and that my claim was approved for the full amount I requested and I should have a check in 3-4 weeks.

So, if you happened to pay for this repair yourself before the recall came out, send in a reimbursement request to Chevy and get your money back!

Got a recall card in the mail awhile ago. But just recently went to the Chevy dealer. i made a appoinment and they said it would take about 2 Hrs. to do the job. So i bring my car down and they bring it in the garage. 30 mins. later they come out and tell me because it's the 5.3L it's going to take 7 hrs to do the job. Replacing the return line for the power steering. Oh this was on my 06. Hope i don't have to pay anything for this labor there is 98 Bucks an hour.
