Ok so ive had this car for about 8 months now, i bought it used off another guy. Its been a work in progress but slowly coming along. Anyways, ive had this issue thats really been bugging me lately and i cannot for the lifes of me figure it out. My dome lights arnt working and when i went to check the 15 amp fuse it was blown (no big deal right? Just replace the fuse (duh!)) Well not....ive replaced the fuse and it just keeps pooping. I figured id try my luck and put and bugger amp fuse in it, well it melted. So ive obviously got a problem here and i need to get it settled. All the other fuses and relays are fine. But can someone help me figure this out please? Tia

 

Putting a fuse bigger than the factory called for can be a problem as you experienced. If it melted the fuse, hopefully it did not harm the wiring.

My first guess is something aftermarket (like a stereo amp) or something was tied into that circuit. If that is not it, something in that circuit is drawing an awful lot of juice.

 

So got a problem here got a 2000 ss the dash lights where the gauges are aren't working ( p.r.n.d.3.2.1) <the lighting for that fades away when u go to turn the head lights on also but still no lights in gauges at all. NOW my brother did pull out n check every fuse under the hood before this happen and this all took effect after he did that could be a fuse problem I did go over them they look fine so does relays BUT my tail light n license plate lights do not work either not but break lights do? HELP if u know anything
