Default 2001 SS no start after new battery cables?

Okay, so here's the deal.

Somehow, one of the battery cables rubbed against the serpentine belt. Fine. Whatever.

So I replaced them. I couldn't get the ground off, so I moved it. I moved it to the body, on the passenger shock tower after clearing away all the paint. The rest of the cables went back in the stock locations. Upgraded to 2AWG cable and converted it to top post to make life easier. Great.

Turn the key on, powers up just fine. Go to turn it to start, and nothing. What gives?

Do I need to get it to relearn the key? I tried turning it to run for 10 minutes and it still won't crank. Did this 2-3 times.

What do I do?

Also, I assume my ground is fine, because everything powered on when I turned the key, no? Or should I move it somewhere else? Stock one is a pain in the *** to get at/remove - unless someone has a tip?

Pretty sure main ground has to be on the engine, then try

Yeah, it did. I moved it and it fires up but won't stay idling.

Probably vacuum leak. Will investigate further.
