Best I could do researching it, where are you located? I know some people on ls1 have changed theres without taking it to the shop, I hear its a PITA

 

I'm in central illinois i don't know why i never looked before but i have the repair manual for it and you are right its not gonna be easy or fun. big PITA! This car has caused me so much money and frustration since i've had it its unreal im just gonna park it i don't have the time or money to deal with it right now. I use a lot of money for mine too, but in the end its so much worth it cause depending on how you do it, if you work on it yourself, its fairly cheap. Im in st. Louis !

 

Well luckily i have my trusty old 01 z71 silverado 177k miles and never had one issue with it. Its been a hell of a good truck. Well i gotta get off a here man you have a good one and let me know how it goes with your car.
