Default '04 Turn Signals Intermittant.

My Turn Signals are acting-up.
Sometimes they don't come-on. Both Left and Right.
When they don't work, if I hit the Emergency Flashers for a second, ... they come back to life.

Has anybody experienced this problem?
What did you have to do to solve the problem?

The Haynes Manual says the Flasher is part of the Hazard Switch Assy. and replacing the Hazard Switch is what needs to be done.

How tough is it to pull the Panel the Turn Signal is mounted in?

I'm having the same problem. I've replaced my turn signal switch when my dimmer switch died. AND my hazard light switch is loose. What's causing the problem? Changing the turn signal switch isn't TOO hard, you just have to be a contortionist to to it. AND you MUST have a mini-ratchet set to do it.That's about $30. I've got some pics if that's where you're headed.

I'll try the 4-ways trick.

here is a link to a post here with a video.

I'm in the same boat. for now, just tap the hazard switch, or bang on the dash till it works. For a part recommendation, RockAuto (<--link) sells the factory one for $20. any retailer will probably rip you off & sell it for $60.

ps, its a VERY common problem. probably every 6th gen owner here has it, or gone through with it.

I have the Mini-ratchets.
I have a Haynes Manual.
I'm going to have to wait for the good weather, though.
I replaced the turn-signal multi-function switch, once, ... already.
Had the under-dash out a few times for aux. lighting.
I'll take the pictures, please.

It is the hazard switch. Pretty common failure on these and malibus. We replace them every day.

The dash pannel comes out easy. Once the under dash is removed. I had to replace my headlight multifunction switch and rewire the aftermark radio the previous owner put in. Just keep in mind that the hazard switch and the headlight switch are attached to the pannel so don't pull too hard.
