6th Gen ('00-'05): 2K Monte intermittant wipers
On my grandson's 2K Monte, he says wipers work, then just quit,, then may or may not take off again,,,, annoying and unsafe. There is no error code from car 'puter. Would it be a good idea to just change out the wiper motor, rather than hours of trouble shooting an mystery solving ? Or is some head-scratching required ?
Hi there and welcome to the forum.
I would check and change the fuse first just to make sure you don't have a weak or blown fuse.
Hopefully someone with more experience with this will post soon and give you some insight

Like barbara mentioned it could be something as simple as a fuse..
Or you may have to change out the wiper/turn signal control...
I would also check all the connections for rust/corrosion.

Thank for the super-quick reply [s]
ok,,,,will check connections,,,,,,,,,,,,, as far as a a fuse issue,,,, I would think a fuse is a go-no go thing,,,,,,,,,,, not intermittent ,,,,,,,,,,,, I think it had a different turn, wiper switch installed in steering column a while back. how about the pulse board module,,,, ????
Earlier this spring I had to replace both wiper arms, they were spinning/ slipping on the studs,,,,, I was thinking that happened from too many attempts at turning on wipers when they were frozen in ice/snow.
That bog could have added extra stress, and may have also damaged the motor, module, etc.
