Default 03 monte carlo fog lights

i have recently put after market fog lights in my Monte Carlo ls. the fogs now look like stock fog lights and i want them to be hid. but i don't think i can change the bulb in the after market fog light. so i was thinking of getting stock lights and wiring them up with the after market wires that i already have installed. I was wondering if i could do this or would i have to buy all factory stuff to go hid. Any help would really be appreciated.

From what I've been told, HID's will burn up factory fog lights. I'm looking at these and converting them to HID's:

Universal Ready Projector Glass Lens for Car H3 HID Xenon Bixenon Bulb Fog Light | eBay

Glass and metal construction, not all plastic like the factory stuff. And I just bought a replacement for $50 for one.

HIDs will NOT burn up the factory fog lights. I've had 35W 6000k in my '01 since last March and have never had a problem. I wouldn't use the 55W HID kits...then you might have a problem burning them up.

The Keyword here is Kit. If you just get the H.I.D. lights they can/will burn out you harness due to higher current, aka more heat. The full kit should have everything you need to properly install them, worry free!

Most aftermarket lights (fog/drivinglights), use a H3 bulb, and ARR replaceable.
To replace the bulb, u usually have to disassemble the light 'housing'to access the bulb.

Blake Farrar, you're running 55 watt HID's in your fogs? Those 10k have to be really blue...If u want your fogs to match you might have to get 12k because the 55 Watt is going to take some of the blue away. I always run 6k in my 3 cars..
